The Brazilian star Extends Apology to Real Madrid Devotees
Vinicius Jr has registered 5 goals in 10 Spanish league outings this season.
Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his response when substituted in the recent fiery El Clasico victory.
Vinicius was replaced in the 72nd minute and showed his disappointment by heading directly to the dressing room.
He eventually reappeared to the dugout and, after his club's 2-1 victory, tried to confront Barcelona's opposing player during unpleasant post-match exchanges.
"This day I want to apologise to all the Real Madrid fans for my response when I was taken off in the big match," Vinicius shared on social media.
"Just as I have already done during today's practice, I would like to express regret anew to my team-mates, the club, and the leadership.
"At times emotion takes over me because I continuously aim to succeed and support my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this team and all it symbolizes."
He moved to the Spanish capital from Brazil in recent years for £38.7m and has scored triple figures in 335 appearances.
But his future in the La Liga is unclear with rumors in recent months stating that Los Blancos would contemplate letting the player move on if they obtained a good proposal.
When the winger was substituted on that day, cameras from coverage provider the service picked him up stating: "Again me! I'm departing the side! It's wiser if I depart, I'm leaving."
In his latest statement on X, the athlete said: "I vow to keep fighting constantly for the welfare of Real Madrid, as I have performed since the very beginning."
